About María
A teacher from Argentina who speaks your language
I'm María, from Argentina, and I'm a language teacher: I teach English and French, and for some time now I've been helping Russian-speaking students learn Spanish.
I speak fluent Russian and lived for two years in Crimea. That's why I know first-hand the typical challenges of coming to Spanish from Russian — articles, verb tenses, pronunciation — and I can explain them in Russian (or English) whenever it helps.
Travelling and living in other countries taught me that a language sticks best when it's connected to real situations and to the culture behind it. I enjoy preparing each lesson as much as meeting each student.
Every student is different. That's why every lesson should be, too.

Terms
- You can reschedule free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice.
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or no-shows, count as a completed lesson.
- If María needs to cancel, the lesson is rescheduled at no cost.
- Packages must be used within the stated validity period.
Payment is arranged by bank transfer or other agreed methods. Online payments are coming later.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know any Spanish to start?
No. You can start from zero: the first lessons lean on English or Russian so you understand everything, and little by little we use more and more Spanish.
Are the lessons entirely in Spanish?
It depends on your level. With beginners, María explains in English or Russian when needed; as you progress, lessons are increasingly in Spanish.
Does María speak Russian?
Yes, María speaks fluent Russian and lived for two years in Crimea. She knows the typical difficulties Russian speakers have with Spanish.
Can children take lessons?
Yes. There are lessons for kids and teens, adapted to their age and school needs. A parent or guardian manages the account, schedule and communication.
How long is a lesson?
Usually 60 minutes. The free intro call lasts 20 minutes.
How do the video calls work?
Via Google Meet. You get the link by email and also find it in your personal space. No special software to install.
What if I need to change a lesson time?
You can reschedule free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice. With shorter notice, the lesson counts as completed.
Will I get materials to practise with?
Yes. After each lesson you get access to the materials and, if you like, to activities to practise between sessions.
How can I pay?
By bank transfer or other methods agreed depending on your country. Online payments are coming later.
Can I learn Argentine Spanish?
Of course! María is from Argentina: you can learn Rioplatense Spanish (the “vos”, everyday expressions) or a more neutral Spanish, depending on your goals.
Can I study if I live in another country?
Yes. Lessons are online and times are arranged around your time zone, wherever you live.
